6 PRINCIPLES OF INTERIOR DESIGN

6 PRINCIPLES OF INTERIOR DESIGN

Let's start with a list of guidelines you would want to check every once in a while when you are building an aesthetic and comfortable place. These are the 6 principles of interior design:

1. BALANCE

The room will have satisfactory look by offsetting the visual weight of a section with equal pieces. Similar in texture and colors.

2. UNITY

You would want to have elements that match and complement each other. For example: if you love a simple white and brown space you would add a brown mirror and a set of Pampa Grass, but not a collection of super colorful Funko Pops.

3. RHYTHM

Use your decor elements to create dynamism through gradation and contrast on materials, colors, and motifs.

4. EMPHASIS

Choosing a focal point to be the main character of that space, making a memorable image of that room.

5. CONTRAST

This principle will be always present in terms of

-Color contrast.

-Shape contrast (circle, rectangles, etc)

-Space contrast (small spaces and large and open spaces)

6. SCALE AND PROPORTION

We have talked about big-scale art pieces and how they give that luxury home look. But in terms of elements of functional elements is important to evaluate their scale so your room wouldn't look overcrowded or empty.

For some these may look basic, but believe us when we say these are the basis of all the strategies of a super pro interior designer.
